Finding the Soul of the Show
I wanted everyone to go to Abbott. And be in it. I thought that was important for Abbott because of the subject matter of Philadelphia Public School with predominantly black children. The beauty of my community is being there with the characters physically in the room with them. For Abbott, that's you know, I don't know if you make a show and it has a soul or you make a Show and it doesn't. When it doesn't, that's really bad TV. It's the set. It'sThe attention to detail, the care for the story, the love for the characters,. Abbott's soul is really well defined because it's so attached to me.
