Shakespeare's the Tempest
The Tempest is the play of Shakespeare's that comes closest to him writing about what he actually did. It has had over time, it's been the most reinterpreted play of Shakespeare. A lot of sympathy for Caliban in the times of abolition, but much suppression of the fact that why he gets deposed by Prospero is that he tries to rape Miranda.
