The History of the Paris Morgue
On busy days, as many as 40,000 people would come to visit the morgue. It was officially closed in 1907 on the grounds of public decency. For a very long time, people were buying postcards or casts of the Ankhunud lesson like they would buy miniatures of the Eiffel Tower.
