The History of Egypt's Education Reforms

In 1956, a socialist government came into power and a program establishing what's called education for all commenced. Before this date, only five provinces in the country had at least one university within their borders. Between 1963 and 1976, the government constructed new public universities in 15 different provinces where previously there had been no higher education institutions. In this sense, it was a large public investment, like one of the biggest public investments in higher education out there.
