The £9 Billion Capital Allowance Is Reformed for Business Investment
Business investment is at a low and it's low relative to other countries. One of the drivers of that isBrexit and all the uncertainty around that. So, what they're hoping is that businesses will suddenly start investing more. But if you have none of that other stuff, things that matter to business are floundering. Have the tax allowances you want. It won't generate more investment. And that's the problem they have. They've recognized a problem but haven't done the bigger package which would actually get to the meat of the problem.
