Baskerville and the Persian Revolutionary War
Howard Baskerville was a young evangelical Christian missionary from the Midwest of the United States. He arrived in Iran just around the time that the previous Shah died and his son Muhammad Ali became the new Shah who immediately launched a war against the revolution. Despite again repeated warnings from the church and from the US government he quits his job as a teacher, leaves his post as a missionary and ultimately abandons his American citizenship to help free Tabriz from the tyranny of the Shah.
