The Fat Man was a spin-off from The Thin Man, a radio series based on the Dachshiel Hammett novel. Domino had a few tunes that would always get the audiences going, and one of them was Junkers Blues. Dave Bartholomew wanted him to record that, but it was felt that the lyrics weren't quite suitable for the radio being pretty much entirely about heroin and cocaine. He could capitalize on the popular title, and tie it into his fat singer,. so instead of, they called me a junker because I'm loaded all the time,Domino sang, 'They called me Fat Man, 200 pounds' There are odd parts where the bass plays
