How to Make a Self-Booting Program

Apple's new operating system, SOS, was built from separate components that were loaded at boot time. The Apple 3 had a small ROM program that on boot checked for a disk with an SOS signature. This means you can make a self-booting program that has access to the full SOS kernel.
