Capitalism: The Only Moral Social System by Gregory Salmieri

Ayn Rand Institute Live!

CHAPTER

The History of Capitalism

Rand's view is that we've moved to a system where society is based on the recognition of individual rights, including property rights. But it doesn't mean that this new principle was ever fully implemented. What it means is that society has come to be organized around individual rights in a way that it wasn't before. That would explain why adopt to get would lead to skyrocketing life expectancy in GDP. So, in effect, capitalism is the moral social system. If this is the right definition of it. And it's the fact that it's the moralsocial system that explains the change associated with a tremendous increase in human well being.
