The Pros and Cons of Intensive Blood Pressure Control

The first prospective trial that really challenged the idea of intensive blood pressure lowered was BP target. And essentially it was a kind of face to smaller trial trying to look at whether or not intensive blood pressure control could just reduce the rates of reperfusion injury. Unfortunately what they found was that when we were driving patients blood pressure really low to less than 120 that actually caused a farm. The odds ratio is 1.37 suggesting that driving blood pressure is that low especially hurting patients. But the overall takeaway to with that driving blood pressures really low is probably harmful but there's still more for us to learn.
