Why Do We Need a Government?
Why do we even need a government at all? This is a very good question to ask, and it's far from an obvious answer. Are we better off as individuals without a government? Well, to answer that, let's think about what a government even does for us, and then we'll try to imagine ourselves without it. Let's say that we never organize a government, and the island turns into an every person for themselves situation. What would that world look like? Would it be chaotic or peaceful? Philosophers largely disagree about what this state of nature would even look like.
