He's brilliant at creating the suspension of disbelief in all sorts of levels. Yes it is artificial but you do suspend your disbelief about it at least while the film is going on. That's it. So what do we want to say? He was born I don't know like 10 years after the end of the Russian Civil War and he died a few years before the Berlin Wall fell. His father was a very successful poet. Had his leg shot off in the war so he had a kind of unimpeachable moral. And excellent yes. A medal, war injury, poet. In the great patriotic war."
