In warrior poses and things like utkataasana, you probably get a little bit of like full circumference of the leg. There's not nothing going on there. But something to remember is if you want to strengthen something, you need resistance in that plane of motion. So what's working the most in there, legs, part of the legs are... Quads. You can't touch the quads and make the quads not work much.
