What Are the Effects of Accent?

Some people analyze the third tone sundae in Mandarin as the smallest domain of it has to be a foot is what I think. The accent moves far back into the word as it can subject to weight constraints. Nouns and adjectives have a lexical accent, which still is subject to weight rules. So you might have a word that is accented on the second syllable. And honestly, it's kind of hard to talk about these in detail so we're sort of giving flavors.
