In most magic, o all magic, you have a hierarchy of spirits and god is still at the top of that. There are actually some magical operations which are specifically directed at obtaining a vision of god. Twentieth century magicians hav tried to remove god completely and replace him by horse or something or other. This is a bad procedure. If you've got a procedure that works, don't arbitrarily change key parts of that procedure just because it offends your particular theology.
