Wozniak also released a lot of the documentation for how to make software for the machine. Apple never tried to take kind of third party royalties or to interfere with the development of a third party software market. By 1982, the Apple II has the largest software library of any computer on the market. Ownership was still in the single digits for personal computers at that time.
