What Is a Package of Bees?

Beekeepers collect bees from multiple hives. A young mated queen unfamiliar to these worker bees is placed separately in a small queen cage because queens are reared separately from the hive. The queen cages have their own additional food source of sugar candy and over the course of like a week or so the worker bees basically learn the smell of the queen until they forget that they never were with her. So all that sounds pretty extensive. Can you just plug and play different queens of species into bee hives and everything's cool and they just mix genetics like that? Well sort of.
