Vatima hussein is a doctor and the product of a mixed moslem marriage. Her mother was from a very traditional sher family, whereas her father was brought up in a strictly suny orthodox family. The divisions are clearly impacting on the politics of the middle east. But i was keen to know how they affected personal relations. For instance, what of a suni was to marry a shia? What compromises would they have to make on a daily basis? Where would the major difficulties arise?"
