Rock the Vote
In 1990 a federal district judge in South Florida ruled that the rap group Two Live Crews album was so obscene that it couldn't be sold or performed within his jurisdiction. Three days after the ruling two members of the group got arrested. Jeff Aeroff, an executive at Virgin Records wasn't offended by the Ranchi lyrics or the twerking. The idea behind Rock the Vote was simple. Get young people to vote for politicians who wouldn't censor music.
