Tokugawa Aiyisu and the Ninjas
Tokugawa Aiyisu was a daimyo who allied himself with the fearsome Oda Nabunaga. The Imagawa clan were holding his entire family hostage in a castle. Some 80 ninjas would sneak into the castle, whereupon they would disguise themselves as the castle defenders. One ninja found the castle's commander hiding in the hall of prayers and promptly beheaded him. This exploit cemented a lifelong alliance between Tokugawa and Hanzo.
