The Lack of Justice in the Justice System for Cannabis
The biggest oversight was really like the lack of acknowledgement of the impact that drug prohibition and cannabis prohibition has had on indigenous black and other marginalized communities period. An individual with a criminal record for something as benign as cannabis possession has a more difficult time completing their education, gaining meaningful employment increasingly securing housing, traveling and just you know navigating everyday life. We've seen what I would call a large transfer of resources. It costs a lot of money to enforce laws it costs a lotof money to convict an individual,. If eventually you did make your way into our correctional systems it cost a lot ofmoney to incarcerate people.
