Is Open Goals Beneficial to Elite Performers?
Open goals are more beneficial to most people because it's the bottom of the pyramid if you're talking about performance. When you get right to the top of the pyramid, deliberate practice requires measurable, achievable, time-bound elements inside of practice. So when you give elite performers open goals, there is less of a direction because they already have mastery orientation and skills that they're looking to develop.
