The first layer that we need to approach is can you feel pleasure? Can you experience something pleasant in your body? Are you able to stay with your body as you touch your body, as you engage with it in a way that feels safe? It's about knowing that I'm never going to push you to really feel something that is absolutely distressing. So this might sound abstract, but I believe that the experience that someone is avoiding starts to just emerge into the space when enough safety has been provided.
