It's not automatic in any way. So the revolver, it hasn't exposed hammer. So you can cock the hammer back and pull the trigger to fire it. That revolvers are also designed that the trigger pull is double action. When you pull the trigger back, it itself cocks the hammer and rotates a live round underneath where the hammer's going to drop. But in this case here to fire that shot, the offender could have cocked the hammer back, but then would have had to pull the trigger or could have just pulled the trigger without pulling the hammer back as well.
