There's no doubt today that stock-based compensation has become an extremely popular way for companies to pay their employees. But there are certainly ramifications to what that can mean for investors. Employees tend to really like stock-based Compensation because it allows them to retain ownership of the company. A lot of people that make it to the executive ranks, they don't necessarily think of themselves as owners of the business.
