I think that a very, very strange feature of our sexual culture is that girls don't prize their own virginity in status terms. I quite my grandmother in the conclusion when she said women have been conned. She said it very darkly. It's not quite true because I don't think that anyone has done the conning. The pill has really, really upended us, our, our heterosexual relationships. And we now have slightly perverse incentives in place, which encourage quite strange behaviour.
