Part of the answer is that BBC is heavily influenced by the newspaper agenda. I spoke to someone very close to Gary Lineker recently who told me that they were horrified, the degree to which Tim Davies' actions in relation to the Lineker business had been in effect dictated to by the mail and attempt to appease the mail. And off we go again. The sun run with it,. the mail run with it, the telegraph run with it - and the BBC are off following it. It's always the same. You never hear from Paul Dake or all these people. So there is this issue of how much they can get away with, even in this post-levison era.
