We can put up walls and protect us from feeling vulnerable, which is a very uncomfortable thing. If we see things as all good or all bad, then we don't really have to navigate the complexities of human emotions,. It makes things easy, right? So as you can see, black and white thinking can be beneficial short term because we can stay out of the place of discomfort. Unfortunately, especially if you are listening to this podcast, it can have severe consequences long term Because it isolates us from others and makes us feel hopeless, helpless, and chaotic.
