The Resilience of a Faculty Job Search
Getting a tenure track job is challenging for anybody. And I was specifically trying to find someplace where my public engagement work would also be part of my work and would be considered valuable. So it's not always easy to convince a department, like maybe all right, one or two fewer papers, but I'll also be doing this massive public engagement thing around the world. That doesn't always seem like a trade off that they're willing to make.
