The history of science is a history of compression progress, he says. As long as you can predict the next thing given what you have seen so far, you can compress it. Einstein was able to explain away all these deviations from the old theory through his general theory of relativity. The amount of compression progress that is the depth of the insight that you have at that moment. And there again, the simplicity is elegant and beautiful.
