Do Farm Workers Have the Same Rights as Other Workers?
The fair labor standards act is what gave us minimum wage, overtime protections. Farm workers in the united states don't have the same rights as other workers. There's only a couple that allow farm workers to organize or pay minimum wage. Even to this day, the construction trades, they have those protections. But what happens with a lot of our immigrant work force ind construction and particular janitorial work, is employers just cheat the system. So they pay them under the table. They don't pay them the ripe benefits. And so m in california, we've done a lot to put those rights back in.
