Is There a Theory of Consciousness?
A global workspace theory is this theory on which the mind is made of these like separate sub systems that do different kinds of things. It explains how sometimes you process some information unconsciously, but sometimes you do become aware of it. Higher order theories are kind of about explaining why sometimes you're conscious of something and other times you're not. And then there's a notion of integrated information, where consciousness is about having integrated information in the system.
