How Did You Win the Nobel Prize?
Brian Cox won the Nobel Prize for his work in measuring how fast the universe was expanding. He used new technology to look back in time by looking at further and further objects. The team that he was part of got sort of the preliminary answer at the end of 1997. By 1998, we could not make it go away, but what we saw was that the universe had sped up.
