We have an environment now with far more complexity than we were used to when we try and apply our pattern identification thinking. So that's a great example of this is the color spectrum. We perceive seven colors at a distance because our brains have made a decision for us over millions of years of evolutionary history That actually sevens about the optimal number of colors that we need to see in order to get by. There are some cultures around the world, you only see four or five. Such as the Berenmo in Papua New Guinea that don't see a difference between blue and green. Actually, it's called no. Blue and green are the same color.
