The song is about the good old boys, but there are key words in it where it's a wink and a nod to folks that want to see it. A good old boy is harkening back to a lineage of something like a secret white knight who can operate as a respected citizen during the day But as night falls can become a vigilante. This is something country music is very good at doing for all of the jokes about how literal the music is. It is actually really good at subtext. So they know what they heard in that message and he knew exactly what he was writing.
