Charles the Second - The King's Legacy

Charles the second's father, charles the first, believed in the divine right of kings to rule. For 11 years he ruled singularly until his taxes and continual dismissal of parliament ignited a rebellion. Even though he was only 14 at the time, Charles the second joined his father in the battles of the first english civil war. The prince would need to leave the country for his own safety. His freedom meant royalists could still rally ind him. And so they needed him dead.
