When you have a scarcity mindset, you're much more likely to be thinking negatively. So the first step is actually to dig below any repeated negative thought patterns and find out what it is that you believe that would be producing that thought pattern. And usually this comes down to things like lack of worthiness or self esteem or deservingness - feeling how people will judge you if you ask for too much. Once you have more abundance in your thinking, you're more likely to do some of the things that might get you what you want.
