Walking Shiva - A Story About Violence
There's another common thread in many of these stories, which have to do with violence. Some of it is violence of the war, for sure, but some of it is just how violent the world becomes when war is going on and how dangerous it is. I'm specifically thinking about the story walking Shiva, which is a story. The mother and the sister go on a seven day trek to try to go to the office to figure out which of the brothers has died. There's a lot of peril, a lot of physical risk to the daughter who has beautiful red hair.
