How much of not being clear about what your purpose is related to whether you're attracting the right people in this work environment? Millennials want to know the answer to this question more than previous generations. And if they think it's cool and worth getting out of bed for, they're probably going to be a better fit. If they don't, don't bring them on. You can complain or talk about whether that's wise or not. That's not the point. The point is if you want to attract people and the right people clarify why you're doing what you're doing.
