The CrossFit Games are a super meritocratic sport in that based on your performance in a single year, you move from the open to a series of increasingly competitive events. You can pay $20 to be in the CrossFit open and hundreds of thousands of people do that every year. Roman Krenikoff has won the last couple years but he's had visa issues due to Russian side this year.
