The Prophet of God Flees to a Brook
The name Carath is from the Hebrew root karate, which means to cut or cut off. It's possibly a play on words here. Elijah flees to this brook, which is east of the Jordan, kind of in no man's land. So he's there and God provides him with water from this water. And then, uh, this is fascinating to me why he would, of all birds, command the ravens to feed him. Because ravens are an unclean species.
