The Importance of Love in War
War is senseless because there's no gain in it, only loss. Now we only embark on war because we think the gains will outweigh the losses. We know there'll be losses, right? People will die. Cities may be destroyed. But the gains are so important that it's worth it. The gaining of freedom for slaves in the Civil War, the American Civil War. Another thing we hope to gain through war. And one of the most important references in the course to this whole issue was a reference to FDR's freedoms.
