God couldn't write a bad story and whatever that story means, right? And I agree with you, a story that was just unrelentingly evil and it didn't seem to be any point. That's something we can't believe God even in his transcendence would be able to do. But I do think God could imagine a world with holocausts and terrible, terrible things so long as the arc of the moral universe is long, but it bends towards justice. If the story as a whole, you know, ends in redemption, then I don't see why God shouldn't be able to imagine even the most dire things.
