The Importance of Singularization in Church Life
As institutions get in crisis and get anxious about their own survival, then the kind of horizon of imagination narrows. And so the same kind of things that you're pointing out throughout the book show up in church life or showing up in lots of other large social institutions. What we're ultimately really afraid of is loss, losing what we do have. That seems to me to just be exactly where most churches and denominations are at.
