Budapest is one of the few places in Europe that's actually pretty welcoming towards those with Jewish backgrounds. And there are specific historical reasons around why the Jewish people at Budapest were encouraged to flourish as well. They were seen as a sort of ballwalk in this incredible empire, the Austro-Hungarian Empire, against the masses. So if you want to be successful, that was one of the places as a Jew that you would probably choose to live.
