The Right Motor Cortex in Stroke Patients
If a stroke patient has had a bleed in the motor cortex, you can figure out which side is affected. Right hand side controls left hand side of the body, left hand side controls the right. So we could talk a little bit about plasticity of the brain and that if somebody does have a stroke and part of that motor cortex is no longer firing off or working, then you can have parts of the brain that sort of project out into parts of thebrain that aren't working. It's not necessarily because that area has gotten better. It's just because neurons like to move around and they love to get innovation and fire off and so forth. And so there's room for movement.
