The Importance of Diversity in the Police Force
When it comes to communal violence, the survey doesn't directly reveal what police personnel think of these situations. Jha says that this lack of will to have any significant reforms, along with the fact that the police lack basic infrastructure, means that they are very under-prepared to deal with extraordinary situations like communal violence. For Muslims, the states stopped even giving us data about how many Muslims are in the police force after 2013. At the moment we don't even know the diversity, these are the religious groups. That I feel is a major factor in trying to change the situation.
