Freud's Mechanism of Repression
Freud's mechanism of repression had greatly impressed him and also the use of dream as the researching medium. Now I think I might begin by talking about the Freudian theory as it related to Jung but to do that I must say something about Freudian theory. The nuclear unit of Freud's psychology is that of wish and the prohibition against which the wish comes. An infant cannot bear a long sustained deprivation so fundamentally prohibited wishes are dropped from consciousness or to put it another way, consciousness turns away from them.
