The Importance of Masking in Children
The idea there is that there's less peer interaction and maybe a bit more adult interaction but not enough to make up for it. So the parents plunk them down in front of a screen because they can't go to kindy. What really does seem to do very well is reading books together. And this isn't screens or bad books or better, but it's just joint attention.
