The Ministry of John in the Gospels
In the case of apollus, john's baptism led him to teach out jesus. The ministry of john was the starting point for the telling of the gospel in the gospel narratives. Paul has to instruct disciples of john further in the message of john and then to connect that to jesus who it was supposed to point to.
